INTERVENTIONS<\/b><\/h2>\n<h6>SURFACE TREATMENTS WITH BITUMINOUS EMULSION<\/h6>\n<p>Surface treatments are ordinary maintenance operations that make it possible to prolong the working life of paving, delaying the need for reconstruction. These are an efficient way of dealing with certain instabilities, predominantly branching microcracks, bitumen sweating, smoothed aggregates and the beginnings of detachment. They ensure that the conditions necessary to guarantee safety are restored and that the structural characteristics are maintained. Surface treatments with bituminous emulsion are carried out by spraying a film of bituminous emulsion on the paving that has previously been cleaned, laying a layer of grit and then compacting with a rubber roller.
